The heat is on

Every home makes noise. Those unexplained creaks and cranks are all part of a house’s charm in normal times. But when you’re having to spend all of your time locked down from home, and your sanctuary has become a place where you not only relax and sleep, but also work and play, you notice those noises a lot more. Factor in winter, when you’re boiler is on a lot more to heat the home, and you might be tearing your hair out.

Pump it up

Heat pumps are a popular alternative to boilers as a way to heat homes but can also be distractingly noisy – except these ones, of course. Quiet Mark Accredited heat pumps include the Grant Aerona³ R32 Air Source, also noted for its efficiency, the Warmflow Zeno and the Vaillant aroTHERM Plus. The latter was awarded across the entire range, from 3.5kW all the way up to 12kW.

Finally, Quiet Mark have also tested right pumps for showers, and have awarded Salamander Pumps for theirs. Regenerative pumps can be noisy, but this uses centrifugal force to boost water flow to showers. And with all the stress of lockdown and home working a quiet, relaxing shower is the least you deserve.
