Slim sightlines

Since 2000 SUNFLEX UK has manufactured and supplied an exclusive range of premium quality bifold and sliding doors that have been incorporated into thousands of stunning home renovation and self-build projects, including many featured on TV.

The latest of their high profile projects features in the latest series of Grand Designs, with the Underground House in Bletchley (s21e04). The stunning home was built into the side of a sloping site, with three sets of large SUNFLEX UK SVG30 sliding doors providing almost unobstructed views out whilst flooding the interior full of natural light.

The doors, installed on this project by Folding Future (one of SUNFLEX UK’s gold distributors), combine huge glazed panels with incredibly narrow 30mm intermediate frames to create a stunning ultra-contemporary appearance when closed. Yet when open they extend the living space outside and break down the boundaries between inside and out.

The SVG30, along with the ultra-slim SV20, can be engineered with panel sizes up to 3m wide and configured into openings up to a staggering 24m across, making them perfect for this type of project.

Sleek and secure

All SUNFLEX UK sliding doors are designed with incredible attention to detail. The systems feature impressive details such as the weather-shield cover-plates that sit on top of unused elements of the track to enhance the protection the doors offer from wind and rain, whilst enabling a completely seamless floor finish between inside and out to be achieved.

The doors also feature a clever flush-stacking detail – the door panels are designed to stack neatly in line with each other when the doors are fully opened, creating a clean and contemporary appearance.

As with all SUNFLEX UK doors systems, the SVG30 carries a range of independent security accreditations to provide complete peace of mind. These include the prestigious BSI Kitemark™, Secured by Design™ award, as well as exceeding the requirements of PAS 24:2016 testing to comply with Building Regulations.
