Modern design probably doesn’t spring to mind when you think of retirement bungalows

 Contemporary retirement bungalow in Dorset

This home on the Dorset coast by Ström Architects is super modern. To cope with the sloping site, the architects designed a simple, single-storey building that cantilevers out over a wall.

The house is wrapped in larch cladding, with full-height glazing to make the most of the woodland views.

The project cost £750,000.
