This fluid concrete structure is not only pleasing on the eye but is multipurpose for the three generations of family and their needs.
The meandering nature of this fluid concrete structure isn’t just aesthetically pleasing – it’s part of a multipurpose solution to a growing family’s needs. This now-unrecognisable former Sixties property was too cramped for the three-generation family which uses it as a holiday home in north-east Spain, so the new, curved incarnation has a dedicated wing for each age group, while the original property at its heart is now an open space in which they can socialise.
It’s economical too; each window has been positioned to maximise the heat and light of the Spanish sun – effectively creating a natural greenhouse. The home also has a solar heating system in place, plus a green roof that helps to insulate the dwelling. (dosis.es)
