By Hayley Gilbert |

When you think of your own grand design, key words that spring to mind usually include modern, contemporary, sustainable, eco, insulated and efficient.

But did you know that you can achieve all of the above with one-level living?

Meisterstueck- HAUS combines contemporary design, sustainable materials and the latest eco-technology to deliver truly outstanding eco houses.

These stunning properties feature highly insulated external walls and roof elements together with triple-glazed windows and insulated foundations for an advanced building envelope, which translates into permanently low running costs.

What’s not to love?

With Meisterstueck-HAUS, every home is a masterpiece.

Whether it’s a Fusion Bungalow, a Hillside Bungalow, Bungalow La Cabana or Bungalow Midsommer, living on one level means accessibility, future-proofing and enjoying all the benefits of a contemporary bungalow home.

One-level living

Living on one level is possible with a Meisterstueck-HAUS. Choose from a range of in-house designed bungalows or an individual bespoke design, which can be delivered to fit in with your lifestyle.

A selection of designs using signature Post and Beam or Bauhaus styles as well as closed panel construction are also available.

Post and beam construction

This comprises glulam posts and beams, providing structural support to allow for large triple-glazed facades.

Alternatively, spaces can be filled with the closed panel Energy Plus Wall. Either option is highly efficient.

Closed panel construction

Extremely flexible, this can accommodate most designs with glazed façades and open-plan spaces, perfect for seamless inside-outside living.

How is a Meisterstueck-HAUS made?

The basic structure is assembled on site and weathertight in just a few days – the image below shows progress after just one day.

The shell house, which is finished externally with roof tiles, windows and external doors installed, is completed within a further two to four, weeks depending on size.

External walls can be finished with render, wood cladding or brick slips while the roof can be pitched or flat, depending on preference.

Sustainable structures

Meisterstueck-HAUS deliberately avoids oil-based materials such as polythene films and polystyrene, ensuring a healthy indoor environment.

The natural wood based insulation system is breathable so is permeable to water vapour and CO2 and is highly weather resistant.

Solid structural timber is sourced from managed German forests in its walls, ceilings and roofs.

The timber used in a typical Meisterstueck-HAUS regrows in less than a minute.

Not only is the wood sustainable, but so is the insulation and superior quality dry lining boards.

The carbon footprint of a Meisterstueck-HAUS is low because the energy required in manufacture is low and wood is a CO2 store.

When teamed with excellent levels of airtightness and state-of-the-art-heating, ventilation and smart house systems, these highly insulated houses are incredibly energy efficient.

Even the running costs of large houses are economical.

What can Meisterstueck-HAUS do for you?

These designs can be adapted to your requirements, but the flexibility of its system allows for almost any bespoke design.

All it requires is a set of floor plans and elevations and the team can provide you with a fixed price for your project, which will be valid for a year once the contract is signed and confirmed by the factory.
