The environment is a directing force in modern design, and for those worried about the effect their choices have ecologically, seeking out sustainable materials is a must.

While eco-friendly building materials are one thing, what we furnish our homes with can easily be equally as environmentally thoughtful. We’ve curated 6 products – each made from a different recyclable material – to inspire the choices you make for your home.

Recycled paper: Crea-Re

This sustainable brand specialises in light fittings made from recycled newspapers via paper maché. However, rather than the naive craft-sy aesthetic you might expect for such a medium, Maria Fiter’s work is striking and sculptural. The Pluto pendant light fitting above is stocked by ReChic.
