We're offering one lucky Grand Designs reader the chance to win £2,000 worth of Oak Vista wood flooring

No other material adds the warmth or beauty that a wood floor brings to a home. From period renovations to modern new-builds, timber is a versatile and eco-friendly option.

Compared to a traditional solid wood choice, a Kährs engineered floor is 75 per cent more stable, resisting warping and cracking, even with changes to temperature and humidity. Oak Vista is part of the Småland collection of 10 designs and has a rustic timber surface with a unique composition of knots, graining and cracks.

Brushing and hand-scraping treatments give the wood a vintage appearance, and a bevelled edge adds definition to the one-strip plank format. The floor is finished with a durable natural oil with a hint of blush, which complements its pale fawn tone.

We have teamed up with Kährs to offer one lucky reader the chance to win £2,000 worth of Oak Vista wood flooring to transform their project. All floors from the Småland collection are made in Sweden, where Kährs was founded in 1857.

They are crafted from sustainable European oak, sourced from neighbouring Swedish woodlands, using a multi-layered construction method. As well as providing eco-benefits, this technique creates greater stability, making the floor an ideal partner for underfloor heating.
