Use your bathroom as more of a living space in your home rather than just a functional one. Here are our styling tips.

One of the latest trends is the ‘lifestyle bathroom’, but is it something you’d want to incorporate in your home design?

The lifestyle bathroom trend is all about making the most out of your bathroom space rather than using it as a quick-stop in your morning routine.

The way you design the layout of your bathroom, what suite you choose and how you decide to style it – these are all factors that contribute to the overall look and how it makes you feel when you’re spending time there.

We’ve put together some pointers to inspire the design of your new bathroom space.

Freestanding bath

In order to feel an immediate sense of luxury when using your bathroom, a freestanding bath is a design option to look into. Whether you choose a squared-off architectural design or a traditional Victorian roll-top, spending time soaking in the bath will definitely encourage you to make more use of your bathroom.

Zone off spaces

If you’ve got the space, consider zoning off different areas of your bathroom. Creating a false wall to zone off your washing area with your sink and dressing area is a great way of creating the feel of even more space in your bathroom – the two zones will almost feel like two separate rooms!

Vanity area

Consider your vanity space and how you want to use it. It needs to be functional but you also want to take pleasure in spending time in front of your vanity mirror. A double sink is definitely a luxury and will help keep your bathroom clutter-free and organised.

Rather than a traditional suite, opt for a stylish cabinet and a countertop basin to really make the space feel like your own.

Styling it up

Bathrooms can sometimes be forgotten about when it comes to styling. However, in order for it to be a functioning lifestyle space where you feel utterly relaxed, it’s important for you to feel totally comfortable within it.

We suggest potting lots of plants and dotting them around the room – hanging planters are always a good option. Store your towels in woven baskets and use a stool to display your most-used accessories.
